About
I'm Mario Antonelli.
I received the Dr. Eng. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and the Ph.D in Information and Communication Engineering from the same University.
I worked first as System Developer in the field of Defense Systems and Security Systems, then as System Analyst on the same fields.
My main research areas are Intelligent Signal Processing, Global Optimization, Non-Monotone Optimization, Meta-heuristics (Ant Colony Optimization, Simulated Annealing, Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization), Support Vector Machine.
An important part of my research activity, during my Ph.D studies, was dedicated to the definition and implementation of Evolutionary Optimization Algorithms for Classification, Automatic Recognition Algorithms and Signal Processing. Some of the algorithms I developed are here collected and organized by category.
I have predominantly dedicated my universitary studies to the Signal Processing at both theoretical and practical levels, learning the main elaboration algorithm and the instruments for the signal analysis. In detail I studied the Intelligent Signal Processing for audio and video:

-
Audio: I studied audio signal compression, digital audio restoration, linear and non-linear filtering, noise subtraction, speech enhancement.
-
Video: During my studies of multimedia signal elaboration I studied methods for video signal representation and compression. In the context of image classification I studied the main algorithms for the image segmentation.
